Is it Time for a Policy Review?

Time passes, and our needs change. What’s true in life is also true in insurance. That’s why it makes sense to sit down and review all of your insurance policies from time-to-time. Here are some points to keep in mind:

1. Make sure your personal information is correct, and your agent and company have the most up-to-date address, phone number and e-mail address.

2. Review all of your coverage with an eye on recent life changes. If you’ve recently had a child, for instance, you probably updated your dependents on your health policy. But have you considered whether you also need more life insurance?

3. If your economic status has changed, due to a job loss, new employment, inheritance or divorce, think through how this will affect your coverage.

4. Review changes to your possessions. It’s not unusual for people to keep paying for the same insurance even after significant changes. If for instance, you buy or inherit valuable jewelry or other items, check to ensure your current insurance covers them. If not, your insurance agent can help you update your homeowners policy or purchase new coverage.
